Hello togehter, I wanted to draw your attention to an upcoming workshop that might be interesting for anyone working with personal data in research: Legal Workshop Series: "Data Protection on a Silver Platter" * 13-15 October 2026, 10:00-12:00 each day * Online * Language: English * Free of charge The three-part workshop is part of the legal workshop series by FAIRagro, NFDI4Earth and NFDI4Biodiversity and provides a practical introduction to data protection and the GDPR in the context of agricultural, environmental and earth system science. Topics include identifying when the GDPR applies, legal bases for processing personal data, privacy notices, anonymisation and pseudonymisation, and informed consent. The sessions are particularly relevant for research involving, for example, interviews, geolocation, drone footage, recordings, or other situations where personal data may be collected. Please note that the three sessions build on one another and take place on consecutive days, so participants are expected to attend all three.
