Wir laden Sie herzlich ein, neue, aktuelle Themen rund um das Thema Forschungsdatenmanagement kennenzulernen, zu vertiefen und sich mit Expert:innen aus der Praxisauszutauschen. Bringen Sie gerne eigene Szenarien und Fragen aus Ihrem Projekt oder Ihrer Forschungsgruppe mit, die wir im Anschluss gemeinsam diskutieren können. Die nächsten Veranstaltungen: 1. Biologische Sammlungen vernetzen: Daten, Standards, Zusammenarbeit (13.05.2026 | 10:00 - 11:30) Anton Güntsch, Leiter des Zentrums für Biodiversitätsinformatik und Sammlungsdatenintegration (Botanischer Garten Berlin), gibt einen Überblick über das Management und die Vernetzung biologischer Sammlungsdaten auf lokaler, nationaler und internationaler Ebene und erläutert. Am Beispiel des Botanischen Gartens die Vielfalt biologischer Sammlungen und ihre Bedeutung für die Forschung. Im Fokus stehen nachhaltiges Sammlungsdatenmanagement, Vernetzungsansätze sowie Standards und Infrastrukturen – einschließlich der Rolle semantischer Interoperabilität. Außerdem lernen Sie Entwicklungen in der Massendigitalisierung und Citizen-Science-Ansätze zur Datentranskription kennen. Audiovisuelle Daten transkribieren leicht gemacht: ASR4Memory (19.05.2026 | 10:00 - 11:30) Das an der Universitätsbibliothek der FU entwickelte Tool „ASR4Memory“ ermöglicht die automatische Transkription audiovisueller (Forschungs-)Daten insbesondere aus den historisch arbeitenden Geisteswissenschaften. Audiovisuelle Quellen können in über 30 Sprachen datenschutzkonform auf lokaler Infrastruktur transkribiert und in standardisierten Formaten (u. a. TEI/XML) bereitgestellt werden. Dr. Tobias Kilgus stellt Ihnen Funktionen, Stärken und Perspektiven der Open-Source-Anwendung vor und diskutiert ihren Beitrag zum nachnutzungsorientierten Forschungsdatenmanagement. Open for Registration: WiNoDa Ecology Field Training

Dear all, we would like to draw your attention to an upcoming opportunity for those interested in gaining hands-on experience at the intersection of ecological fieldwork and data science within a transnational research project. The WiNoDa Ecology Field Training: Data Collection and Analysis at the Lower Oder Valley will take place from July 21–25, 2026, near Schwedt/Oder (Germany). Participants will contribute to ongoing research while collecting field data and developing analytical skills in a collaborative, life science–focused environment. Participation is free of charge. In this webinar, you can learn more about MAPtoGO, a novel Multiomics Analysis Platform designed for simultaneous Gene Ontology (GO)-based enrichment across proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, and transcriptomics. We will cover how to perform unified interpretation of diverse biomolecules to identify enriched GO terms, physicochemical categories, and disease associations in a single analysis. We implemented MAPtoGO in a lightweight web application that is openly available [https://lifs-tools.org/map-to-go] and free of charge. We will also demonstrate how the application’s integration with Goslin allows for the seamless handling of various lipid nomenclature dialects, transforming complex datasets into interpretable statistical plots and actionable biological insights. This webinar is aimed at students, early career researchers, clinicians, bioinformaticians, and everyone interested in mechanistic multiomics integration and advanced computational lipidomics. Dear colleagues, Have you ever wondered which collection practices and historical contexts led to the creation of the collections you work with? To facilitate fruitful learning and discussion on the topic, we invite you to our upcoming online seminar series, “Ethics in Action: Working with Sensitive Data from Scientific Collections<https://winoda.de/en/educational-offers/seminar-series-ethics-in-action/>”. In this seminar series, we will explore the ethics of data derived from scientific collections, covering topics ranging from dinosaur fossils to looted artefacts, as well as threatened species and genetic resources. Our panel of excellent speakers from around the world will highlight the importance of understanding the historical and ethical context of collection data, discuss the challenges of working with such materials responsibly, and present practical approaches and tools for addressing these complexities.
