NFDI-Direktorat: Susanne Walter-Augustin zur neuen Kaufmännischen Leiterin ernannt
Der Verein Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (NFDI) e.V. hat eine neue Kaufmännische Leiterin. Susanne Walter-Augustin wurde dazu in einer Sitzung des Kuratoriums<https://www.nfdi.de/verein/organe/> im Juni ernannt. Sie bringt ihre umfangreichen Erfahrungen in den Bereichen Verwaltung, Finanzen und Projektmanagement seit 1. August ein. Susanne Walter-Augustin und Direktor Prof. Dr. York Sure-Vetter bilden zusammen sowohl das NFDI-Direktorat als auch den Vereinsvorstand und vertreten den NFDI-Verein. NFDI Directorate: Susanne Walter-Augustin appointed as new Administrative Director
The National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) Association has a new Administrative Director. Susanne Walter-Augustin was appointed to the position at a meeting of the board of trustees in June. She will bring her extensive experience in administration, finance and project management to the role from 1 August. Susanne Walter-Augustin and Director Prof. Dr. York Sure-Vetter jointly form the NFDI Directorate and the association’s executive board and represent the NFDI association. NFDI4Memory Ethik-/Recht-Expert:innenrunde ELSA4Memory hat ihre Arbeit aufgenommen
Die zwölf Expert:innen erarbeiten konkrete Lösungsimpulse für ethisch rechtliche Fragen in den historisch arbeitenden Geisteswissenschaften. White Paper und ausführliche FAQs richten sich an der Praxis aus: Wie geht man mit sensiblen Metadaten um? Welche Rechtsgrundlage sollten Historiker:innen kennen, die digitale Projekte durchführen? NFDI4Memory Ethics/Legal Expert Group ELSA4Memory has begun its work
The twelve experts are developing concrete solutions for ethical and legal issues in the historical humanities. White papers and detailed FAQs are geared toward practical application: How should sensitive metadata be handled? What legal basis should historians conducting digital projects be aware of? NFDI4Health veröffentlicht Statement zur Zusammenarbeit mit der Industrie
NFDI4Health versteht sich als vernetzter, kooperativer Akteur in der deutschen Forschungslandschaft für Gesundheitsdaten. Angesichts wachsender Public-Private-Partnerships hat NFDI4Health nun eine Stellungnahme zur Zusammenarbeit mit der Industrie veröffentlicht. Darin positioniert sich das Konsortium als kompetenter Gesprächspartner für eine FAIRe und innovative Nutzung von Gesundheitsdaten. NFDI4Health Publishes Statement on Collaboration with Industry
NFDI4Health sees itself as a collaborative and well-connected player within Germany’s health data research landscape. In light of growing public-private partnerships, NFDI4Health has now published a statement on collaboration with industry. In this statement, the consortium positions itself as a competent dialogue partner for the FAIR and innovative use of health data. NFDI4Memory hat das Working Paper<https://zenodo.org/records/15745568> "Kontrollierte Vokabulare und Normdaten der historisch arbeitenden Disziplinen" veröffentlicht
Neben allgemeinen Begriffs- und Prozesserklärungen werden vor allem Relevanz- und Qualitätskriterien für Vokabulare benannt und Empfehlungen zur Verwendung von Vokabularen für zentrale Entitäten der historischen Forschung formuliert. Hinweise und Kommentare können unter dem Betreff "Empfehlungssystem Vokabulare" auch via Mail an hinfo(a)geschichte.uni-halle.de <mailto:hinfo@geschichte.uni-halle.de> gesendet werden.
NFDI4Memory has published the working paper<https://zenodo.org/records/15745568> “Kontrollierte Vokabulare und Normdaten der historisch arbeitenden Disziplinen”
In addition to general explanations of terms and processes, the paper primarily identifies relevance and quality criteria for vocabularies and formulates recommendations for the use of vocabularies for central entities in historical research. Blue Paper<https://zenodo.org/records/16614629> "Technische Spezifikationen für den NFDI4Memory Data Space" veröffentlicht. Der NFDI4Memory Data Space wird als digitales Ökosystem aus Datenquellen und Diensten die zentrale Infrastruktur des Konsortiums bilden und es Wissenschaftler:innen ermöglichen, über Fach- und Repositoriengrenzen hinweg Quellen und zugehörige Daten zu finden und mit ihnen sowohl auf herkömmliche Weise als auch mit Methoden der „Digital Humanities“ zu arbeiten. Der Fokus des Blue Papers liegt auf der technischen Spezifikation der verschiedenen APIs – etwa für Suche, Download und Konvertierung bzw. Transformation von Daten.

The NFDI4Memory Data Space will form the consortium's central infrastructure as a digital ecosystem of data sources and services, enabling researchers to find sources and related data across disciplinary and repository boundaries and to work with them both in traditional ways and using methods from the digital humanities. The blue paper focuses on the technical specifications of the various APIs—for example, for searching, downloading, and converting or transforming data.
