Betreff: [NFDI-all] NFDI_BB Workshop on "Provenance and Reproducibility": May
19, 2026
Dear friends of NFDI_BB,
we would like to announce the next meeting of our network of the NFDI consortia based in
the Berlin-Brandenburg region. The event will take place in person in Berlin on
Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, from 10 am to 4 pm at the
Wikimedia Deutschland – Gesellschaft zur Förderung Freien Wissens e. V.
(Tempelhofer Ufer 23/24,10963 Berlin)
The topic of this edition will be „Provenance and Reproducibility“. In Research Data
Management (RDM), these two concepts are two sides of the same coin. While provenance
tells the "story" of where data came from, reproducibility is the scientific
"proof" that the story can be repeated with the same results. In the workshop,
all related aspects (concepts, standards, metadata, tools,...) of provenance and
reproducibility may be of interest, e.g., object biographies, RO-crates, FAIR digital
objects, reproducible workflows.
The meeting is to be very open, flexible and close to community needs. We invite you to
contribute to the meeting by a short presentation or a demo that you feel is within the
topic and might be of interest to other consortia, too. Please indicate your contribution
in the registration form. To facilitate our planning, please do so as soon as possible.
Detailed information and an online registration form can be found on our web
site<https://events.hifis.net/event/3380/>. There will be no participation fee and
the deadline for registration is Apr 30, 2026.
We expect around 50 people to attend the event interested in the Research Data Management.
We would appreciate if you participate in the meeting and thus continue to strengthen and
keep our NFDI_BB network active. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us
by email (nfdi_bb@mardi4nfdi.de<mailto:nfdi_bb@mardi4nfdi.de>). You are encouraged
to forward this email to interested colleagues and suggest them to subscribe to our
nfdi_bb mailing list<https://www.listserv.dfn.de/sympa/info/nfdi_bb> at DFN if they
have not already done so.
Best regards from the organizing committee
