Dear Colleagues,

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer, whether you've just returned from vacation or are still looking forward to it.

As we discussed at this week's TA1/2 call, I'm sharing our Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for feedback. Please give your comments before August 6, 7:00 in the morning. Vacationeers will miss the deadline, but your comments are still very welcome and will be accommodated when possible.

Please leave any comments as comments. If you prefer to work on a local copy, please upload the modified version with a different name so as not to accidentally overwrite other comments. Please do not make any changes to the cells, as I will not compare different sheets – only comments will be taken into consideration.

WBS Table Overview

The WBS sheet has a number of columns:

- Level: The level in the WBS

- ID: Activity identifier

- Activity: The activity/component description

- Output: The expected output of the activity - currently mostly defined for 'Must' tasks

- Owner: The initials of the component owner

- Members: The initials of the members of the focus group to work on the activity

- Ready by: Deadline for the activity

- Complexity: The estimated complexity of the activity

- MSC WP25: Importance for WP25 (Must, Should, Could)

- Connected to: Connections of the component to other components

1. Review WBS Level 1 Components

Please examine the main components (WBS Level 1 entries) and consider:

- Are all necessary components for the final product included?

- Should we add any missing components?

- Please suggest additions if you identify gaps

2. Evaluate WP25 Activities

For each activity related to WP25, please review:

- Complexity assessment - Does the assigned complexity level seem appropriate?

  - We have the following assignments, mostly assigned per intuition

    - Very small

    - Small

    - Medium

    - High

- Must/Should/Could categorization - Do you agree with the priority classifications?

Priority Definitions (in relation to WP25):

- Must: Essential activities that absolutely must be completed to enable further work

- Should: Important activities that would be great to finish for WP25 (these become Must activities for WP26)

- Could: Nice-to-have activities for an excellent finish

3. Component Ownership and Activity Participation

Each WBS Level 1 component requires an owner who will:

- Coordinate work within their component

- Manage connections to relevant components

- Report to TA1/2

Please indicate which components you'd be willing to own. Ever Must component *must* have an owner. Complex components can have more than one. We have already added some component owners - fell free within the focus group to change the component owner - as long at there is one.

Work is carried out in smaller focus groups that organize themselves. Please sign up for activities that interest you. You can see how many activities you participate in in the sheet `Activity Count`.

Next Steps

After receiving your input, I'll update the WBS and prepare to discuss any significant changes or concerns at our regular TA1/2 call Thursday August 7.

Thank you for feedback!
