Hi,

Providing the list ahead of time is a good idea!

Regarding the list, we already had some discussions.
I suggest excluding the stuff not developed by / not part of NFDI-MatWerk,
e.g. KADI4Mat. On the other hand, I didn’t see OpenBis, which I thought was being pushed by NFDI-MatWerk.

An important factor is who is interviewed / who gets to provide input for the list.
An SFB member, even the spokesperson, will not know what >12 project partners are using individually, but I think we will need this level of detail.

I suggest also to ask in which IUCs the PPs are using these solutions,
as well as which solutions they have provided input for development.

So far, my two cents. I am at a symposium tomorrow and will, therefore, not be able to join your discussion.

Thanks!

Erik

Dear all,

I would prefer a different approach and would like to discuss it with you tomorrow in our meeting.

Let us send questionnaires to the interview partners in advance. I have an Excel spreadsheet in my head, with one column listing all the available software solutions (we'll have to discuss which ones tomorrow, only from this current, incomplete list or more?). Next to this are other columns containing the questions from Julia's file:

  • Which of these software solutions are you using in your PP?
  • Which of these software solutions are you using in other contexts?
  • Please describe within 1-2 sentences how the used solutions from NFDI-MatWerk helped with your work?
  • Did your work get easier/better/faster using this specific MatWerk solution? Can you elaborate briefly on this?
  • Have you ever tried to use other software solutions from this list? If yes, please let us know why you are not using it anymore?

Additionally, we could ask in advance: what do you would need, to use more of our software tools? Are there missing solutions for your specific research field?

In the interview itself, we then can be faster and could ask for more details and specific needs of the person.

That was my idea so far. However, based on my feedback on the website and the solutions website so far, there may be other aspects to consider, so I would suggest finalising this list of questions at tomorrow's meeting.

Best regards,
Katharina

Dear Roll-out team,

I drafted a short interview guideline for the interviews with our PPs regarding the use of MatWerk solutions.
You find it attached. Please review it.

Thank you in advance

Best regards,
