We would like to inform you about the current status of planning for the NFDI BioMed Workshop,

which will take place from December 2 to 4, 2025 (Tuesday to Thursday) at ZB MED in Cologne.

The NFDI BioMed Workshop 2025 will consist of two parts:

1) We will start with a strategy workshop for the spokespersons on December 2 and 3, 2025

(Tue/Wed, from noon to noon) to discuss the positioning of the BioMed group within the NFDI and

its relationship to other units, as well as to define joint activities and goals.

2) We will then continue on December 3-4, 2025 (Wed/Thu, noon to afternoon)

to create a joint website and associated texts, image material, etc. that will help us bundle the offerings of the individual consortia

and then present them as a joint offering from our community.

While the strategic part is limited to two people per consortium (spokesperson+1), the second part of the meeting will be used to concretize and bundle the joint offerings.

In particular, we need at least 1 person per consortium to

• coordinate joint outreach/websites and agree on a corresponding portfolio for slides
• coordinate joint training offerings and helpdesk activities
• create a joint service overview
• address the interoperability of services

The aim of this workshop is to harvest ‘low hanging fruits’ directly and make them visible to the outside world. In addition, the next steps and further cooperation should of course be coordinated.

in December:

Dear all

I wanted to give you an update regarding the current plans for the NFDI
BioMed Workshop, scheduled for 2025-12-02/-04 (Tue-Thu) at ZB MED

During a recent meeting of the speakers/coordinators of our five consortia,
we discussed a number of potential topics and formats for the Workshop.
We came to the conclusion that the outline detailed below, will allow us
to work on important mid-term goals as well as producing outputs that
can be readily used by and for communication with our communities, all
while at the same time still being realistic to organize.

The NFDI BioMed Workshop 2025 will therefore consist out of two parts:
1) We will start with a strategy workshop of the speakers on 2025-12-02/-03
    (Tue/Wed, lunch-to-lunch) to discuss the positioning of the BioMed group
    within NFDI and its relation to other entities as well as defining common
    activities and goals.
2) We will then continue on 2025-12-03/-04 (Wed/Thu, noon-to-afternoon)
    with a hands-on communication & outreach workshop to create a common
    website and related texts, visuals etc to help us present our shared
    interests to our stakeholders.

the outreach part is open to anyone who is interested in contributing.
