Presentation
of the NFDI4Energy
Progress Report
|
|
|
|
On
July 7th, NFDI4Energy
reached a major
milestone:
representatives of the
consortium presented
the consortium’s
progress to the NFDI
Expert Committee of
the DFG in Bonn. They
gave a 15-minute talk
and contributed to the
90-minute poster
session, answering a
wide range of
questions on community
building, data,
ontologies, industry
connections, the
vision, and governance
of NFDI4Energy.

New
Federal-State
Agreement on the NFDI
|
|
|
|
The
Joint Science
Conference (GWK) has
decided on a new
federal-state
agreement for the
NFDI: the federal and
state governments will
continue funding the
NFDI from 2029 for
another ten years,
with up to €98.7
million annually.
We're delighted about
this long-term
planning security and
thank everyone who
advocated for the
continuation of the
NFDI.

On
June 26, 2026,
NFDI4Energy
representatives
presented the Climate
Policy Atlas
Database at the London
School of Economics
during London Climate
Action Week. The
Climate Policy Atlas
is a wonderful example
of what research data
infrastructures can
enable: making
complex,
multi-dimensional
policy data
accessible,
interoperable, and
ready for rigorous
analysis.

at the meeting of the
research network power
grids
|
|
|
|
On
June 16–17,
NFDI4Energy
participated in the
2026 Meeting of the
Research Network Power
Grids in Bonn. This
year’s meeting focused
on the network’s
restructuring and the
introduction of new
thematic working
groups that will shape
future collaboration
and research
activities.

Metadata
Mapping Hackathon
organized by
NFDI4Energy
|
|
|
|
On
July 16–17, 2026, our
NFDI4Energy team
hosted a Metadata
Mapping Hackathon in
Karlsruhe, which
turned out as two days
of great collaboration
and progress! The
result: 597 lines of
code, 198 lines of
mappings, 162 lines of
tests, 7 sample data
sets + 6 manually
transformed metadata
records, 537 lines of
documentation, and
tons of great
discussion!
