Meet
the Task Areas (TA) of
NFDI4Energy
|
|
|
In
this section, we
introduce the task
areas (TAs) of
NFDI4Energy to provide
a clearer
understanding of our
objectives and make
our consortium´s work
more tangible.
The
work in NFDI4Energy is
structured in seven
task areas - in this
edition, we present
TAs 6 and 7, shedding
light on NFDI4Energy
topics regarding Use
Cases for Community
Services (TA6) and
Organization &
Management (TA7).
These TAs play a major
role in demonstrating
the practical
application of
NFDI4Energy services
through use cases
(TA6) and ensuring
efficient project
management,
communication, and
integration within the
NFDI landscape (TA7).
|
|
Task
Area (TA) 6: Use
Cases for
Community Services
▶ Brief overview:
TA6
focuses on applying
and evaluating the
services developed in
TA1 to TA5 through
applications from
energy research. The
primary goal of TA6 is
to define additional
requirements from
these examples,
ensuring the developed
services meet the core
needs of the energy
system research
community. TA6 plays a
critical role in
demonstrating the
usability of the
developed services,
identifying new
requirements, and
generating additional
visibility within the
community.
▶ (Interim) Results:
-
Evaluation
and selection of a
co-simulation
scenario with
heterogenous
simulators and
real hardware from
EnergyLab 2.0 at
KIT.
-
The
need for
transparent and
open comparative
information and
data on long-term
energy system
scenarios has been
discussed at the
1st Conference on
Research Data
Infrastructure
(CoRDI) and at the
1. NFDI4Energy
Conference.
▶
Next steps:
-
Compatibility
check of
simulators and
co-simulation
framework as well
as requirement
collection for
scenario
ontology.
-
Integration
of German and
European long-term
energy system
scenario data into
the Open Energy
Platform https://openenergyplatform.org/.
-
Publication
of a website for
the selection of
flexibility models
based on given
criteria and a
Best Practices
video on how the
Open Research
Knowledge
Graph https://orkg.org/ can
be used for energy
system research.
|
Task
Area (TA) 7:
Organization &
Management
▶
Brief overview:
The
main goal for TA 7 is
to efficiently manage
and govern the
NFDI4Energy
consortium.
It is also necessary to ensure proper
accounting and compliance with legal obligations. In addition,
the organization of the
internal and external
communication
and information infrastructure,
as well as the quality
assurance of the project and the project work are among
our responsibilities.
TA7 also takes
care of the integration of NFDI4Energy
into the NFDI landscape.
▶
(Interim) Results:
-
Formation
of the Project
Office (PO) to
manage day-to-day
operations and
maintain project
oversight.
-
Establishment
of internal
communication
frameworks to
facilitate
information
sharing and
collaboration.
-
Achievement
of initial steps
toward integrating
NFDI4Energy into
the wider NFDI
landscape.
