Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to invite submissions for the 1.5-day workshop “Beyond the Book: Digital Research, Presentation, and Sustainability.” The workshop explores how digital research—especially in the context of non-Latin script languages—can move beyond the constraints of traditional scholarly formats.
As computational research increasingly produces data, models, and analytical outputs that cannot be adequately represented through static text, this workshop focuses on a critical pipeline: how digital research is produced, how it is presented, and how it can be sustained over time.
Organized by the project Closing the Gap in Non-Latin Script Data, the workshop will feature three thematic sections:
NLP for Non-Latin Scripts: Contributions addressing computational approaches and outputs that challenge conventional scholarly representation.
Digital Scholarly Communication: Work exploring innovative, interactive, and multimodal formats for presenting research.
Sustainability of Digital Scholarship: Practical strategies for maintaining and preserving digital research outputs over time.
We particularly welcome submissions grounded in concrete projects, implementations, and experiences, including those that reflect on challenges or failed approaches.
Each section will include a keynote, two talks, and a panel discussion.
Submission deadline: July
15, 2026

We welcome contributions from researchers, developers, and practitioners in digital humanities, computational linguistics, and related fields.
Please feel free to share this call with interested colleagues and networks.
